Sir Duke – Stevie Wonder

Sir Duke – Stevie Wonder

The song “Sir Duke” was released in 1977 and was a tribute to Duke Ellington, the influential jazz legend who had died in 1974.

A fun tune to play, though it gets quite high pitched later. I hope you enjoy the letter notes below 🙂

^E-^G ^A ^G  ^E    ^D-^C   ^D-^C-A
Music   is   a   world   within   itself

A    ^C    ^D#-^D   ^C  G#  ^C-^D#-^D
With  a  language  we  all  understand

^E   ^G  ^A-^G  ^E-^D-^C-^D-^C-A
With  an  equal  opportunity   ~

G    A   ^C   ^D#-^D
For   all   to   sing

^C         G#   ^C   ^D#  ^D-^C
Dance and clap their hands

^C   ^C   ^C-^C  ^C   B-B   Bb   Bb   Bb-A
But just because a record has a groove

A          Bb    Bb   B    B     ^C
Don’t make it in the groove

^C   ^C  ^C  ^C  ^C   ^C-B
But you can tell right away

B  Bb-Bb A
At letter A

A           A       Bb-B     ^C   ^C#  ^D
When the people start to move

^E   ^G   ^G  ^E  ^G-^E ^B-^A-^B-^A
They feel it all over       ~       ~

^G    ^G   ^G   ^E  ^A-^G
They  can  feel  it  all  ~

Over   ~      ~       people

They can feel it
