Hey everyone! So i’ve been playing with adding polls – i hope this will give me more opportunity to interact with you all and get an understanding of what everyone plays etc 🙂
I mainly play the flute, but also test out the notes i write on a piano app 🙂
I’ve been thinking more and more about trying something new… would love to hear what everyone else plays and enjoys!

Hey Mars, thanks for your request! I’ve taken a listen, it is a nice song, but not something i’d find myself listening to usually hehe 🙂 I’ve also seen the video with the letter notes, i’m not sure what value i’d be adding besides writing out what’s in the video already 😛 I figured that having to learn the song, figure out the notes and write it all up would be a duplication of effort – so i think i’ll have to pass on your request, sorry about that. Well actually that’s not quite true, i’ve done ‘Let Her Go’ here: https://noobnotes.net/let-her-go-passenger/ but actually heard the Kygo mix first, had no idea for years it was a cover until someone requested it – i heard it and was so shocked haha but at least i knew it 😀 so that one it done 🙂
So being in a position of not knowing any of them, would you mind picking your favourite 2 or 3 to help focus me?! I’ll then listen to those and see if the notes come to me 🙂

Hey Isabella, thanks for the suggestions, quite a list there! Do me a favour, if you had to pick one (excluding “Don’t Stop Believing”, that’s on my list already :D) which would it be?! I got a long list to go through and people are always asking, so it seems fairer this way 🙂 🙂 …oh and also unfortunately can’t do Lindsey Stirling, I love the violin-dubstep too (and have embarrassed myself more than once trying to play along!) even if she was playing at human speed and i could work it out, i haven’t found a good way to write out lyric-less songs yet, they’re just random A-G’s unless you know the song inside out, yknow? :S
Also do check http://flutersmusic.blogspot.co.uk/ and http://www.mintmusic.co.uk/ too, they cover a lot of the more modern poppy stuff i don’t know so well 🙂
So yes, i have to be honest, i’m not really into pop music so don’t know any of the other songs, but if you pick one i’ll do my best to learn it and work it out for you (*please dont be taylor swift, please don’t be taylor swift*)

Regarding the instrumental sections…!
I usually write the notes above the lyrics to help the player work out what part of the song they are on, and also to provide timing information. Without the lyrics, it’s just a bunch of A-G letters, which is why i’ve not done many like that. I did the Mario theme in that format to test the water, but the general feedback i got was that it was confusing to read unless you know the tune 100%. I hope this explains my reluctance towards writing out the instrumental bit, although if you can think of a better way of presenting it, i’m always open to ideas 🙂 I’ve said the same to other requests for the Harry Potter theme, Star Wars etc… I think it’s just a bit beyond what i can offer at the moment.
Re Cruella De Vil in my standard, lyric-bound format, is an absolute definite to-do! I can’t believe i didn’t think of it, the ‘baddy’ disney tunes are always the best 😀

I’ve given “We’re all in this Together” a listen (well, the start :P) and it seems like it should be possible to work out and would fit in with the other musical stuff on here, so thanks for your suggestion 🙂 …I hope this doesn’t open the floodgates for all the High School Musical songs though, they’re really not my thing 😛 But i’ve passed on enough of your suggestions so I feel I kinda owe you this at least 🙂

Thank you for reminding me about “Down In New Orleans” – i’d started it a while back, but felt it wasn’t going so well, then put it down and forgot! I picked it up again this evening and have managed to improve it, but not feeling as confident in this transcription as some of my others…!
