Hey Amy! Sorry for the late response, however your post is timely π
Following requests from others, i’ve been working on a super-list! …a way to order the songs here based on a number of factors – length of song, number of unique notes, pitch range of notes in song, etc…!
It’s not quuuuite ready yet, so for now i have a few options for you
a) Browse the songs i’ve arbitrarily marked as ‘easy’ : https://noobnotes.net/browse/difficulty/easy-song-letter-notes/ (‘easy’ is so subjective and instrument-based, ive done my best!)
b) pick a song you like and focus on the chorus π
c) theme tunes! short π https://noobnotes.net/tag/tv-show-theme-tunes/
d) mario https://noobnotes.net/super-mario-bros-theme-nintendo/ – because i really wanna hear mario on sax π
Would love to know what you end up going for?! Let us know the best easy songs for saxanoobs π

Hey Mike, thanks for the comment π
I think you must be more musically advanced than I am, i just work out the letter notes to songs I like on the flute and note them down for others π
“Wish you were here” is one of my faves and sounds lovely on the flute I think too! π The letter notes for it are here: https://noobnotes.net/wish-you-were-here-pink-floyd/ and transfer well onto other instruments too.
When it comes to harmonies however, i’m a bit lost π My best guess is that you’d like to see sets of the notes a few semitones apart so you can play them together at the same time…? If that’s the case, the best I can suggest for now is to use the ‘shift key’ buttons to get the different transpositions, and group them together somehow. Forgive/correct me if i’ve misunderstood!?
My day job is as a web programmer, and i enjoy coding up this site as much as i enjoy writing and playing the tunes, so if there’s some sort of functionality i could add to make it easier / more fun for you to play, i’m very open to ideas π
Let me know π
natHey Katie, no problem at all, i hope theyre good π i’m not sure if ukulele’s and guitars can use the same chords, i can’t even read chords i’m afraid haha but i’d totally give it a go π i’ve been surprised to discover the range of instruments people play these letter notes on, it seems music is quite transferable π let me know hoe you get on π π nat
Hey Zwei, do you mean the one that goes “When marimba rhythym starts to play
Dance with me, make me sway”?! If so, that’s an awesome suggestion!! natHey Tessa, I’ve never heard of this song but when googling I found someone has worked out the notes for your already here: https://youtu.be/QyW6jOfArXw I hope that’s enough to get you playing ?
-natHey Iona, I know the modern pop stuff is really popular, but it’s just not stuff I listen to I’m afraid, I’m an old metal fan, high school musical is pushing it already ?
However there are loads of other places to check…
β Letter Note Player : http://www.letternoteplayer.com/
β Fluters Music : http://flutersmusic.blogspot.co.uk/
β Ultimate Flute Notes : http://ultimateflutenotes.blogspot.co.uk/
β Mint Music : http://www.mintmusic.co.uk/
β Easy Letter Notes : http://easy-letter-notes.com/
Between NoobNotes and the list above, youβve got access to hundreds of songs, new and old, in a range of keys. Thereβs choice for everyone, any instrument and any ability ?
I hope you understand that I do this for fun, so will be mainly sticking to the songs i like to play (with the odd high school musical song in there too I suppose!)
There will be loads more Disney on it’s way though, so keep checking back for that βΊοΈ

Hey John, thanks so much for your kind message!
I’ve been googling “EWI-usb” since i saw your message come in and found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQuRPyrfTPU …..and wow!!! what a beast! it looks amazing π
How did you hear of such a thing, and how are you finding it?! I’m sensing from your message that it’s been a bit of a bumpy journey, i’m intrigued to know more before i frivolously spend $300 π
Thanks Tessa, give me some time to work through the list and figure this one out π I’m interested to know what instrument are you going to it play on?! nat
Woop i’m chuffed you’re happy Amy π
I have also just published ‘Empty Chairs at Empty Tables’ should that also be of interest – https://noobnotes.net/empty-chairs-at-empty-tables-les-miserables/

Hey Hannah! I’ve not seen the whole thing yet, just 1 song and it was cool! I wasn’t sure about the rap-style parts, i’ll have to look again at some point π
Hey Barrett, i loved your comment, thank you! We’re loving all the same tunes it seems π π Have you tried ‘Dont Stop Me Now’?! I’m hooked at the moment! The Addams family tune was a labour of love – blood, sweat and tears went into that, it was sooo tricky to work out, so i’m extra happy to have heard that, thank you!! I’ll look into Belle for you, i get distracted with all the songs.. π Nudge me if i take too long! I hope you enjoy the other stuff on here til then, nat π
Hey Hannah, to pick up two instruments within a few months of each other sounds like a real challenge to me, how have you found it and which are you getting on with more?! Do you play other instruments too? …so many q’s π -nat
Wow Mathew, Havana on the sax is something i HAVE to hear! You guys are really twisting my arm – i’m so tempted to go out and just buy a sax π I’ve not heard of a C-melody before, though i can understand the benefits you’ve mentioned. Time to google! π
Hey Faith, thanks for the suggestions! I don’t know those guys in particular, although have set up a bunch of song collections, one is ‘Christian’ and you can find it here: https://noobnotes.net/song-collections/christian/ -a lot of them are hymns (from the school days!) and christmassy stuff, but is the best i can offer at the moment as i don’t tend to listen to religious music π I hope you enjoy them, i’m always adding new stuff do so keep checking back! nat
That sounds so cool Amy! Since your message I’ve been researching more and i’m thinking about trying one out at a local music store π I’m so impressed that you’ve not even had it a week and have mastered Havana already!! I’d love to see if you do make a video and are willing to share π What kind of note range are you getting out of it now?! π π
